How many times have you felt disappointed with our education system? How many times have you had to 'memorize' stuff that couldn't in the least interest you? How many times have you had to miss out on what you really wanted to explore? How many times have you wished things would work differently in this country? How many times have you watched RDB or Lage raho... and felt a fire within to do something about it? Loads? Well, now is the time for you to not just think and question but to do something! An opportunity to break away from the herd and carve your own path..To be a part of the solution and not the problem. Gandhi Fellowship brings you an opportunity to turn around 8 failing government schools and change the lives of a 1000 children ….. And you. We believe that talented youngsters provided with appropriate mentoring and capacity building can team up with government principals and officials to turn around these schools. Thus we have designed a program to build skills which will help you tackle not just this situation but would be valuable in any sphere and sector. This is done through structured capacity building programs, personal mentoring and coaching of fellows, exchanging best practices from corporate, researchers, NGOs, and govt. sector, learning journeys and personal reflection. Gandhi Fellowship puts you in a complex socio-economic setup, embedded in the difficult government system and places the tall order of revamping not just 1 but 8 government schools plagued by multiple problems. You have to solve a wide range of issues right from within the classroom - inculcating discipline without fear to enhancing teacher motivation, building a culture of learning and performance, removing caste, class, gender and religious barriers from classroom behavior and from people's minds. If you could achieve this, which problem would remain too complex for you to solve, which situation could be more demanding? Read the enclosed "Do you dare to solve these problems?" document to know more about the kind of issues govt. schools are faced with and you would work towards solving. Gandhi Fellowship is a full time, 2 year fellowship offered to final year students across disciplines. If selected you would be a part of this professionally and meticulously designed Fellowship. You would get a grant of Rs.14, 000 pm and official accommodation. You would be based out of Ahmedabad, Gujarat or Jhunjhunu, Rajasthan. For further details please refer to the enclosed PPT.
